GCSE Higher Aiming for Grades 6–9

Moving beyond knowing the content to accessing the harder marks

The Sunday evening GCSE Higher group is aimed at students who are reasonably secure with the core GCSE curriculum and are ready to concentrate on the material and problem solving typically encountered in the later sections of Higher-tier examination papers.

Students do not need to arrive already working at Grade 8 or 9. The programme is also appropriate for students around Grade 6 who want to begin accessing Grade 7+ material, provided their core skills are sufficiently secure.

Sessions will explore higher-level topics in depth while developing the ability to connect different areas of mathematics, select an appropriate method and persevere with questions where the route to the answer is not immediately obvious.

As the examination season approaches, the emphasis changes.

From March: turning knowledge into examination marks

From March onwards, we will increasingly work with past-paper and exam-style material.

Importantly, the aim isn't always to complete every difficult question perfectly.

Students will learn to ask:

“What can I do with this question?”

We will explore how to identify accessible parts of challenging questions, demonstrate relevant mathematical knowledge and pick up additional marks even when a complete solution feels out of reach.

This makes the programme as much about confidence, decision-making and examination resilience as it is about Higher-tier content.

Full Series — £549

Includes all live sessions plus access to session recordings and supporting resources throughout the series, including material from sessions missed before joining.

A three-payment option of £183 per month is available on request.

Individual sessions — £25

Students may attend individual live sessions at £25 each. Individual bookings do not include recordings or access to the programme resource library.
